Orange County Trust Company Sponsors Youth Lacrosse Clinic

Orange County Trust Company was the proud sponsor of the 2014 Trilogy Lacrosse Clinic hosted recently by the Newburgh Armory Unity Center (NAUC), an organization that fosters collaborative relationships responsive to the specific needs of the City of Newburgh and Newburgh Enlarged City School District, focusing on opportunities in education, athletics, health and wellness.

The Clinic was held on the Chris Hawkins Indoor Field at NAUC. It was aimed towards children who have played lacrosse in the past but wanted to learn additional skills and techniques. Lacrosse is growing in popularity in the region and the Unity Center boasts an indoor turf field that can host lacrosse events year-round.

"Trilogy Lacrosse enjoyed working with the players and families from the Newburgh area and supporting the mission of the Newburgh Armory Unity Center.  Seeing the passion and excitement the boys and girls brought out to the field made the sessions enjoyable for the coaches and players alike.  We hope to continue working with many of the players that joined us as they continue to develop as players and young men and women" said VP of Marketing and Boston Cannons defenseman Mitch Belisle.

The two day event included instruction for children in grades 3-8 with the second day for children grades 9-12.  Lead by coaches who have played at professional and collegiate levels, the Trilogy Lacrosse program teaches the kids how to improve their skills and shows them new techniques to improve their game.

“Orange County Trust Company was honored to work with the Armory’s Unity Center to bring something so unique to the community," said Michael Gilfeather, President & CEO of Orange County Trust Company. "My daughter is currently a Division One lacrosse player and her interest and skill development started in a similar youth program. We are glad to give back to the future of our community."
